i was at nie with hl today.. we were on our way back (to ntu) when we heard this PRC guy say, "mah de" in his strong china accent. it was kinda funny coz i didnt expect any one of those PRCs to use expletives coz… well.. since they ARE scholars; tot they’re pretty refined..

anyway, that guy actually used our "local expletive" so it was even more unexpected. we tot that even if they swore, it would have been in their own form of "native swearing". so when we heard that, we turned and looked at each other with knotted brows. As usual, i burst out laughing right after =)
