First off –> I started my
first day of tuition on a new assignment. The tuition coordinator was rather
unpleasant. She was really skeptical of me, my ability to tutor.. like I’m
going to screw up her assignment lidat.
The negotiation was
more like interrogating. Her tone was challenging, and the way she put it, made
me feel as though only scholars are eligible for her assignment. Anyway at
the end of the conversation I told her, " if u have no confidence in me,
or if the parents have no confidence in me, then I think u better pass the
assignment to some other tutor”. Her reply was, “zzzz” no reply.
That old woman.. I felt like
sending her my pass experiences.
Worse of all, after
arranging and confirming, she realized my name was EDNA and she became
suspicious of whether I was Singaporean. Come on! After confirmation! Anyway I
told her I AM SINGAPOREAN but she kept asking me again and again, like I would
say I’m not if she asks a few more times. I had the urge to say “YA LA, YA LA,
MADE IN SINGAPORE” but of course I didn’t.
*roll eyes*
The night before the
tuition commence, she gave me a briefing on how to teach. And later, she gave
me directions to how to get to the place. It was really nice, except that the
directions were from how to get there, from HER place. But nvm, I tot it was
really sweet until she railed at me. She told me the tutee’s address and said
it was opposite the JIAO TANG. She insisted that I have the address repeated to
her (she didn’t trust that I took it down, prob because I wrote a little
faster). When I told her it was opposite the CHURCH, she screamed on the phone,
“NO LAH, WHAT CHURCH. IT IS THE MOS-KEY, MOS-KEYYY!!” ok she meant mosque.
2ndly –> I was
on my way there today when she told me last min the tuition is off coz the
tutee couldn’t make it home in time. I took the train back. When I reached Choa
Chu Kang, she msged to ask me to go back. She sent me 2 smses. The 2nd
1 all in UPPER CASING. Apparently the student was back. So again, I travelled
back. The student was by the way, just the type of student I loved tutoring,
kekeke. So the trip to and fro x2 was ok.
On my way there, my EZ link
fell out of my back pocket which is the 1st since I ever got an EZ
link. Fortunately, some1 saw it and returned it to me. My knight in shiny
armour actually made the afford to break into a light jog, so as to caught up
with me Aww.. so nice! That tan (malay guy), big.. o no, huge is a better word.
Huge knight with bulging tummy, saggy limps with a face full of… sweat and
oil.. Nonetheless, I was really grateful to him. I wished I thanked him more
than just.. once. =( seriously, I’m really grateful.
